In small pots you can plant small bulbs such as iris, eranthis, anemone, muscari, chionodoxa, scilla bifolia and botanical tulips in sandy potting poil. In the spring, different varieties bloom between February and April. Combine colors as desired, or opt for uni.
In large pots you might choose ornamental onions with low or high bloom, in the color that suits you. Low white-pink plants with large bulbs such as allium karataviense or bright purple with high stems such as allium Purple Sensation.
Do not forget to water in the spring!
Or plant the bulbs in the garden in the autumn and transplant them into pots in the spring. You choose which bulbs are allowed to naturalize in the soil and which bulbs bloom on the patio or table this spring.
Please be aware: bulbs roots need space and air, and in natural (sandy) soil this is easier to arrange than in a pot.
