Ixiolirion tataricum or mountain lily is a bright purple-blue wild flower, often used in field-bouquets, and flowering in May and June. Great for naturalization in the garden.

Keeping

  • Keep dry and airy at room temperature until planting

 

Growing

  • Planting in October and November (December if no frost)
  • Sun or partial shade
  • Well-drained soil
  • Plant the bulbs about 10 cm deep and about 10 cm apart, grouped in the garden or in a large pot

Flowering

  • Bright purple blue
  • Flowering time as from May/June
  • Flowering height about 30-40 cm, with grass like leaves. Great in garden bouquets.
  • Blooms every year if the crop is not removed after flowering (suitable for naturalizing)
